All change

I am not a patient person and the lack of control in house selling is driving me crazy.

Following a challenging six months with our original estate agent, we’ve cut the apron strings and moved onto another.  There was some miscommunication, and we’d come to the natural end of the contracted period, so we thought we’d take the opportunity to get bumped back up the Rightmove ranks and try a slightly different market.

Not the greatest start with the new agent (“we seem to have shredded your sales agreement”), they didn’t turn up to an appointment they made and they’re not exactly paying attention to what I’ve said (“don’t use an exterior shot for the online listing”) but I’ve been assured it’ll be smooth sailing from now on.

Our original agent had told us at the beginning of this all that the average house takes nine months to sell.  That seemed like a lifetime at the beginning of this journey, but now we’d be delighted if it sells in three months’ time.

We’ll be reviewing it in the autumn – we want to have moved county by the time we need to apply for Scarlett’s school at the very latest, so we’re on a deadline, but don’t want to sell our house short either.

And so, we wait.  And wait.  And wait.

I feel your pain! Our house “sold” within weeks, but months down the line they pulled out… And then so did another couple…. And another….. Four buyers and 10 months it took us to sell through to completion! Such stress! Stay positive! X
